My first concept behind a "A Place for a Leaf'" was to create some type of trench for me leaf because of the colors within it. The leaf itself was several different shades of green and yellow which reminded me of camouflage, which made me think "Army."After experimenting with different paper textures and colors, I created what I would like to call a "Hiding Place for a Leaf". It is constructed as a niche for the leaf. I used the darker green paper to blend with the original colors of the leaf and placed the leaf in the top of the "hiding place" and then created small viewfinders on the sides in order to see how the texture of the leaf relates to the color and texture of the paper used. The black base is used as a platform to emphasize the shape and color of [My Place for a Leaf].

Shows the side view and viewfinder which relates the colors and texture of the leaf to that of the paper.
